Mechanical Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to support the operation and maintenance of its Cryogenic Air Separation Unit (ASU) in Fremont, CA. This role is ideal for candidates with strong industrial mechanical maintenance experience, including compressors, pumps, motors, valves, and rotating equipment. The technician will troubleshoot equipment, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor a cryogenic Air Separation Unit (ASU) to ensure safe and efficient production.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on compressors, pumps, turbines, valves, motors, and other industrial equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and instrumentation systems.
• Maintain AC compressors, seals, pumps, and related rotating equipment.
• Monitor plant operations using SCADA, HMI, and PLC control systems.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and equipment documentation.
• Perform equipment inspections, collect operational data, and identify potential maintenance issues.
• Execute complex plant operations, including system startups and shutdowns.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, calibration, production, and quality records.
• Support quality assurance, environmental compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in root cause analysis, safety investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with purchasing, inventory, production reporting, and other administrative activities.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DHS, cGMP, and company safety standards.
• Participate in on-call rotation and support overtime as required.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school, military technical training, or equivalent industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of Air Separation Plant (ASU) or related industrial plant experience.
• Experience maintaining industrial compressors, pumps, motors, valves, and rotating equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mechanical and process equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and industrial testing equipment.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and independent decision-making skills.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and participate in an on-call schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with refrigeration systems.
• Knowledge of water treatment equipment and processes.
• Familiarity with cryogenic air separation technologies.
• Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI systems.
• Industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, chemical, gas processing, or energy facilities.
