Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer for Night Shift to join our manufacturing team. This role involves developing, testing, and optimizing CNC machine programs to ensure precise and efficient production of complex components. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with CNC machining processes, programming languages such as Fanuc, and CAD/CAM software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CATIA. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality manufacturing operations, utilizing advanced machining techniques such as 5-axis CNC milling and electrical discharge machining. The successful applicant will play a key role in maintaining production standards through meticulous programming, tooling setup, and quality measurement.

Duties

• Develop and modify CNC programs for various machines including CNC lathes and 5-axis CNC milling machines using Fanuc controls and CAM software.
• Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate machining processes aligned with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
• Set up machining tools, fixtures, and tooling on CNC machines to optimize precision and efficiency.
• Perform precision measurements using calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part accuracy.
• Conduct troubleshooting of CNC machinery and resolve programming or mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to review CAD models in SolidWorks or CATIA for manufacturability and tooling requirements.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow efficiency and reduce waste.
• Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, and inspection results for quality control audits.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing machining processes and recommending enhancements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in CNC programming with Fanuc controls; familiarity with other controls is a plus.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and engineering CAD design tools.
• Strong knowledge of CAM programming for CNC milling machines, including 5-axis operations.
• Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is desirable.
• Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
• Skilled in measurement techniques using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) specifications effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with a detail-oriented approach to quality assurance.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with TruTops programming software.

· Experience with SigmaTek/SigmaNEST programming software.

· CAD experience preferred (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar software).
