Job Description
Our Manufacturing Clients
A well-established manufacturing company in the Inland Empire is seeking an experienced Die Maintenance Technician to support a high-volume metal stamping operation.
This is not a general facility maintenance position.
We are looking for someone with direct, hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and adjusting metal stamping dies.
The ideal candidate can identify tooling problems quickly, perform precision repairs, and work with production personnel to minimize downtime.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair metal stamping dies
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production tooling
- Diagnose die problems involving wear, alignment, clearance, damaged components, and dimensional issues
- Repair, fit, grind, and adjust tooling components as needed
- Operate surface grinders, manual mills, lathes, and drill presses
- Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools
- Read and interpret blueprints and tooling drawings
- Make or adjust check fixtures when required
- Assist with die changes, production startups, and tooling-related production issues
- Maintain accurate tooling repair and maintenance records
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to reduce downtime
Required Experience
Qualified candidates should have:
- 3+ years of relevant manufacturing or tooling experience
- Hands-on experience with metal stamping dies
- Experience with progressive, compound, and/or stage dies
- Strong die troubleshooting and repair skills
- Experience operating surface grinders, mills, lathes, and drill presses
- Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances
- Experience using micrometers, gauges, and calipers
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Knowledge of tool steel and heat-treatment principles is a plus.
Please Note
This position requires direct experience working with production dies and tooling.
Candidates whose experience is primarily in facility maintenance, HVAC, automotive repair, general machine operation, or electrical maintenance without stamping die experience may not be a match for this role.
Candidates with previous titles such as Die Repair Technician, Tooling Technician, Die Maintenance Technician, Tool & Die Maker, Toolmaker, or Die Specialist are encouraged to apply.
Compensation
$34.00 – $38.00 per hour, depending on directly relevant experience and skill level.
Equivalent base compensation is approximately $70,700 – $79,000 per year, before overtime.
Overtime may be available depending on production requirements.
Schedule
Full-time, on-site manufacturing position.
Specific shift details will be discussed with qualified candidates.
To Apply
Please submit a current resume clearly showing your experience with:
metal stamping dies, die repair, tooling maintenance, manual machining, and precision measurement.
Qualified candidates will receive additional information regarding the employer and exact work location during the interview process.
