Job Description:
Radiologic Technologist - Interventional
Shift: 8:00 am - 6:30 pm, Will be required to work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis. Overtime may be required based on departmental needs. On-call coverage 2-4 days/month.
Duties:
The radiologic technologist is responsible for performing radiographic examinations under the direction of departmental radiologists. The technologist will greet the patient, explain to the mthe examination they are about to undergo, position the patient, set the proper exposure factors to obtain therequired quality radiograph. The technologist will also practice appropriate radiationsafety andprotection to assure that patients do not undergo undue radiation exposure.Technologist will also havea sufficient knowledge base to operate imaging equipment efficiently and effectivelyin order to obtainquality studies and to report any malfunctions with equipment to immediatesupervisor. They will alsobe responsible for processing films, inputting information into the RadiologyInformation System fordocumentation and billing purposes. This position will also be responsible for theproper use of imagingequipment and following department procedures and protocol as defined in thePolicy and ProcedureManual. This position is mainly responsible for providing radiologic examinationsbased on referringphysician and radiologist needs.
Qualifications: A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, NYS license/registration, plus one year CT/MRI experience as a radiologic technologist required.
