Key Qualifications:
- Current, active Connecticut Special Education Teacher license (SPED) along with all required certifications
- Demonstrated experience working in special education settings within schools
- Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Committed to individualized education and student progress
- Capacity to adapt and respond to diverse student needs
- Willingness to work onsite for 35 hours per week during the contract period
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support for students with varying abilities in alignment with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to enhance student outcomes
- Develop lesson plans and implement differentiated teaching strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings, contribute progress reports, and maintain accurate student records
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where each learner is encouraged to achieve their best
- Engage in ongoing communication with families and caregivers regarding student progress
