Job Description
Job Title: Material Handler
Responsibilities
- Pick customer orders by selecting the correct items and quantities from designated locations, visually inspecting products for defects during the picking process.
- Pack orders accurately by checking items against the picking list or ticket, selecting and setting up appropriate shipping cartons, packing items securely, and applying proper labels.
- Prepare orders for shipment by operating manifesting software and systems as needed and ensuring all shipping details are correct.
- Create and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and all necessary paperwork for truck orders and international shipments.
- Stack labeled cartons onto the appropriate outbound pallets for small package shipments in an organized and secure manner.
- Restock pick locations with items from bulk warehouse locations and record all replenishment activities accurately in the inventory system.
- Assist in loading outbound shipments, ensuring pallets and packages are staged and loaded safely and efficiently.
- Assist in scheduling and unloading inbound freight and support the receiving process, including stock put-away and related computer work.
- Participate in cycle counting of inventory to help maintain accurate stock levels and identify discrepancies.
- Use RF scanners and RF scan guns to pick, pack, load, and track inventory movements throughout the warehouse.
- Operate pallet jacks, including electric pallet jacks, to move pallets and materials safely within the warehouse.
- Perform general warehouse duties such as material handling, loading, unloading, and general labor tasks as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and safe use of ladders for elevated picks.
- Lift and move products regularly in the 10–25 lb range, and participate in team lifts for heavier items as required.
This is a Contract position based out of Burnsville, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
