Transportation & Logistics Clerk

Job Summary:
The Transportation & Logistics Clerk is responsible for coordinating daily transportation and warehouse activities in a fast-paced logistics environment. This role supports shipping, receiving, inventory, and customer service operations while ensuring accurate documentation and timely deliveries. The ideal candidate has experience using TMS, WMS, ERP, and SAP systems and thrives in a high-volume distribution or 3PL environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Schedule carriers and communicate with drivers, customers, and warehouse personnel.
• Create and process shipping documents, Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, and manifests.
• Track shipments and resolve transportation issues or delays.
• Enter and maintain accurate shipping and inventory data using TMS, WMS, ERP, and SAP systems.
• Monitor inventory transactions and assist with inventory reconciliation.
• Process customer orders and ensure order accuracy.
• Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status and customer requirements.
• Verify shipping and receiving paperwork for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain transportation records and prepare operational reports.
• Support warehouse operations as needed while following company safety procedures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• 2+ years of transportation, logistics, warehouse, or 3PL experience.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Transportation Management System (TMS)
  • Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • SAP
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or third-party logistics (3PL).
• Knowledge of shipping regulations, carrier coordination, and freight documentation.
• Experience with RF scanners and inventory control.
• Familiarity with cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and order fulfillment.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
