Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Deliver efficient and accurate pharmacy technician services in a dynamic mail order pharmacy setting focused on at-home chronic care management. This contract role offers an opportunity to apply your skills in prescription processing and patient support within a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Location: Salem, VA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Duration: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Contract/Temporary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret sig codes, select products, and process prescription refills with precision
  • Conduct data entry, insurance verification, and resolve rejections to ensure seamless processing
  • Prepare, label, and package medications in compliance with pharmacy and regulatory standards for pharmacist approval
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and manage medication returns effectively
  • Handle inbound and outbound patient calls and prescriber requests professionally, maintaining confidentiality
  • Adhere to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and organizational protocols to protect patient information and comply with regulations

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a mail order or retail setting
  • Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license and current PTCB certification
  • Strong communication skills, excellent multitasking abilities, and effective time management
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to insurance adjudication and NDC changes
