Make a positive impact in elementary education by supporting students with special needs for the remainder of the school year. This full-time contract position requires 40 hours per week and starts as soon as possible, extending through the end of the school year. Based near Windsor, VT, you’ll step into a rewarding opportunity to nurture growth, facilitate learning, and provide individualized instruction in a welcoming elementary school setting.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state-specific licensure).
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with elementary-age students preferred.
  • Competency in developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families.
  • Adaptability, patience, and a student-centered approach to teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver specialized instruction tailored to each student’s needs, fostering their academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages engagement and positive behavior.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences as needed.
  • Employ evidence-based strategies to address a diverse range of learning, behavioral, and developmental needs.
  • Participate in professional development and school-based activities to enhance skills and contribute to the school community.
