Medical Technologist Lead Duties:

• Perform both urgent (stat) and routine lab tests in areas like Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology under supervision.
• Follow standard procedures and regulatory guidelines to ensure accurate and compliant testing.
• Use knowledge of laboratory science and independent judgment to deliver timely and accurate results.
• Maintain required licenses, certifications, and competencies in assigned lab areas.
• Assist with specimen collection, processing, and sending samples for external testing when needed.
• Work evening or night shifts and act as the main lab contact for the trauma team during the shift.
• Support overall lab goals including quality, patient care, compliance, teamwork, and efficiency.
  

Requirements:

• 2 Year/Associate Degree, Science, required
• 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology preferred
• State of Florida Medical Technologist License
• Technical specialty areas: Blood Bank/Immunohematology, Chemistry, Hematology
• Min 3-5 years of experience in a Medical Laboratory
• 3 or more years of experience and generally scheduled in at least 5 areas of the lab
