Job Description
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a full-time Special Education Teacher supporting students with effective needs. This contract opportunity is located in a vibrant community near Woody Creek, CO. You'll provide specialized instruction to a small group of four students, primarily in 2nd and 3rd grades, within a K-8 environment.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring a supportive and inclusive classroom setting
- Develop and implement personalized educational plans based on each student's goals and requirements
- Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and support staff to coordinate services and create effective interventions
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and multi-disciplinary teams to monitor progress and adjust strategies as necessary
- Maintain accurate records, track student data, and complete required documentation in a timely manner
- Foster a positive and encouraging classroom culture that builds confidence, growth, and social skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state requirements apply)
- Previous experience teaching students in elementary or K-8 settings, especially with effective needs, is highly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders
- Passionate about making a difference and dedicated to supporting the unique abilities and strengths of each student
- Adaptable, patient, and creative approach to lesson planning and classroom management
