Job Title: Material Handler 1st shift

Job Description

This role supports warehouse operations by safely moving materials throughout the facility and ensuring products are accurately received, stored, and shipped. You will work on the first shift in a clean, temperature-controlled warehouse environment and play a key role in inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and overall warehouse efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks using a forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Receive and process incoming materials and customer products, ensuring accuracy of documentation and physical counts.
  • Move materials to designated warehouse locations in accordance with established procedures and layout.
  • Use an ERP system to perform and track inventory transactions for incoming, in-process, and outgoing materials.
  • Pick, pack, label, and prepare customer orders for shipment according to work instructions and shipping requirements.
  • Verify counts, weights, and measurements of incoming and outgoing products to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform inventory transactions and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Operate RF scanners and various material handling equipment to complete daily tasks.
  • Stretch wrap, band, and stage shipments for outbound delivery.
  • Conduct quality checks on products and shipments to ensure they meet customer requirements and company standards.
  • Follow 6S and lean manufacturing practices to maintain an organized, efficient, and safe work area.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to support smooth warehouse operations.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while operating forklifts and other equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling.
  • Previous forklift operating experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Experience using an ERP system such as SAP, Epicor, Oracle, or a similar platform.
  • Ability to use RF scanners and basic computer systems for inventory and shipping tasks.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • High attention to detail with strong accuracy in counting, measuring, and verifying materials.
  • Solid basic computer skills for data entry, transaction processing, and documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and warehouse best practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Experience working with SAP, Epicor, or other ERP systems in a warehouse setting.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing principles and 6S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety).
  • Comfort working in a large-scale warehouse environment with both indoor and occasional outdoor tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and grow within the organization.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large-scale, clean warehouse that is primarily temperature controlled and focused on safety and organization. You will work on the first shift, Monday through Friday, typically from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM depending on department needs. The facility operates within the display manufacturing and color sampling markets, serving kitchen and bath wholesale and retail customers, as well as other well-known brands. You will use forklifts, RF scanners, and ERP systems such as SAP or Epicor as part of daily operations. While most work occurs indoors in a clean environment, you may be exposed to outdoor elements when working near loading docks or staging areas. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
