Medical Technologist - Urgent Requirement

Location: Bradenton, FL
Position Type: Full-Time
Shift- Full-time Nights and Evening  (rotating weekends)

Compensation- $27.09 - $37.92/ Hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technologist to perform both routine and urgent laboratory testing in a hospital setting. The role requires strong technical expertise, independent judgment, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accurate and timely test results.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform stat and routine clinical laboratory testing across multiple disciplines including Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology
• Follow established procedures and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Apply laboratory science knowledge and independent judgment to deliver reliable test results
• Maintain required licensure, certifications, and competency in assigned laboratory areas
• Assist with specimen collection, processing, and referral testing as needed
• Support department goals related to quality, patient safety, compliance, and operational efficiency
• Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow
• Work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision

Requirements

• National certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP preferred)
• Florida State Licensure as a Medical Technologist required (minimum in 3 lab areas; all areas preferred)
• Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of hospital laboratory experience preferred
• Blood Bank experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Comfortable working independently and covering multiple lab areas
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
