Job Description
Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives as a full-time Special Education Teacher supporting a middle school resource classroom. This contract position offers the opportunity to guide and empower students, working closely with a collaborative educational team dedicated to fostering an environment where every learner can thrive. The schedule runs from 8:00am to 3:30pm, providing a fulfilling workday balanced with personal time.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential
- Experience working with middle school learners in a resource room setting preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Skills in differentiated instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Commitment to creating inclusive, supportive classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction to students with varied learning needs
- Develop and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with parents, team members, and related service providers
- Adapt lessons and materials to ensure accessibility and student success
- Track and report on student progress, using data to inform your teaching
- Advocate for student needs within the school community
- Foster a safe, positive classroom culture that promotes confidence and growth
