This contract role requires three skilled Special Education Teachers to provide direct support and creative instruction in partnership with a dedicated educational team. You'll contribute to impactful programs that prepare students for academic and real-world success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver individualized instruction for students with a variety of needs, including executive functioning challenges, Autism spectrum disorders, and learning disabilities.
  • Embrace innovative, flexible approaches—especially within a new pilot program aiming to help high schoolers build employment and life skills.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues, PT/OT staff, and external tech center professionals to ensure a holistic, supportive environment.
  • Participate as a valued member of a multi-teacher team addressing elementary-age students’ needs in reading, writing, and math.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom, accommodating diverse learning styles and behavioral requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP development and implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Vermont Teaching License with at least one of the following: Special Educator Endorsement, Special Education Consulting Teacher Endorsement, or Intensive Special Education Teacher Endorsement.
  • Experience supporting students with Autism, severe behaviors, or learning disabilities.
  • Aptitude for thinking outside the box, adapting instruction, and managing change.
  • Knowledge of current best practices for planning, classroom management, and collaboration within a school setting.
  • Satisfactory fingerprinting results (prior approved fingerprints from a recent school assignment are acceptable).
  • Available for full-time, onsite engagement from August 19, 2026 through June 14, 2027.
