Job Title: Industrial Painter
Job Description
This role focuses on painting forklift parts and frames in a high-volume manufacturing plant using both powder coat and two-part paint systems. You will prepare metal components, operate painting equipment, and ensure all parts meet strict quality and color specifications while following safety procedures in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Apply powder coat and two-part paint to forklift components, including frames and related parts, according to specified color, thickness, and finish requirements.
- Perform all necessary prep work such as cleaning, sanding, and sandblasting parts to ensure proper paint adhesion and a high-quality finish.
- Load and unload parts onto and from conveyor lines, coordinating with production flow to keep paint operations running efficiently.
- Set up, operate, and adjust spray guns, paint booths, and related industrial painting equipment to achieve consistent, high-quality coatings.
- Maintain correct paint colors, mixes, and specifications by following work instructions and production documentation.
- Inspect painted parts for defects, coverage, and finish quality, and make adjustments or rework as needed to meet quality standards.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance on spray equipment, paint booths, and work areas to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Use air tools, hand tools, and an overhead crane (as needed) to move, position, and handle parts safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Apply basic math skills and follow written and verbal work instructions to complete tasks accurately and on schedule.
- Support production targets by working efficiently in a fast-paced environment and coordinating with other team members on the shop floor.
Essential Skills
- Industrial painting experience using spray guns and paint booths in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Hands-on experience with powder coating and industrial paint application.
- Proficiency in using spray guns, air tools, and hand tools for coating and general production tasks.
- Ability to operate an overhead crane occasionally to move and position parts safely.
- Experience with prep work, including cleaning, sanding, and sandblasting metal components.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for long periods.
- Basic math skills and the ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions and production documentation.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and PPE requirements in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Attention to detail and quality, with the ability to maintain consistent color, coverage, and finish on painted parts.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Berea, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.40/hr.
