About this job
Job Description
Step into a rewarding, school-based speech-language pathology assistant (SLPA) position with opportunities to support secondary students and make a meaningful difference. This contract role is a full-time commitment (37.5 hours weekly), with consideration for part-time schedules (around 30 hours) for the right candidate. You’ll primarily work at one campus, though some flexibility to assist at a second site may be needed based on assignments and location.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with a caseload averaging 80 secondary students and collaborating closely with on-site staff to implement therapy plans, track student progress, and contribute to a positive school environment. The district values professionals who can adapt, communicate effectively, and prioritize student success.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid and current professional license as an SLPA (Speech-Language Pathology Assistant)
- Experience in a school setting, specifically with secondary-level students, preferred
- Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks efficiently
- Willingness to work with one or two campus assignments if needed
- On-site presence required; not a remote or teletherapy position
- Must complete state fingerprinting and background check requirements promptly due to time-sensitive credentialing processes
- Reliable team player with strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language services under the guidance of licensed SLPs
- Support IEP implementation and data collection for assigned caseload
- Collaborate with educational teams to help students reach their communication goals
- Maintain accurate records and contribute actively to student progress monitoring
- Adapt to assignments based on school-site needs and student populations
Interested candidates should be prepared to share if they have previously worked for this district and disclose any past terminations from any school district, which may affect hiring eligibility.
If you’re committed to helping students thrive and eager to be a valued member of a supportive educational team, apply today to take the next step in your SLPA career!
