American Traveler is hiring a NICU RN for a Level II & III unit requiring 2 years of experience and NRP Advanced certification.

  • Work in a Level II & III NICU unit within a hospital setting
  • \n
  • Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4 depending on acuity
  • \n
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • \n
  • On-call responsibilities include late stay if needed
  • \n
  • 13-week assignment length
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active RN license (South Carolina or Compact) required, pending license accepted if obtained prior to start
  • \n
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH, and NRP Advanced
  • \n
  • STABLE certification preferred
  • \n
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required, though 1 year of experience may be considered case by case
  • \n
  • Epic charting system experience preferred but not required
  • \n
  • Experience with conscious sedation and ventilator management preferred
  • \n
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients requiring Level II & III NICU support
  • \n
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • \n
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
  • \n
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted during the application process, as requests made afterward will not be considered
  • \n
  • Pass/fail testing is required during orientation, including a Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test for all units and a Moderate Sedation Test for OR, ICU, and Endo units
  • \n
  • Travelers have only one opportunity to pass required orientation testing
  • \n
  • An attendance policy applies, and missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review or cancellation
  • \n
  • Former permanent staff of this health system are not eligible to return as travelers
  • \n
