American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU/Step-Down position requiring an active IN or compact RN license and night shift availability.

- acuteInside the hospital-based Medical ICU is a 20-bed mixed ICU/Step-Down unit \n
- ICU assignments follow a 2:1 patient ratio while Step-Down patients are cared for at 3:1 \n
- Floating required to sister unit 5S to cover Step-Down 1:3 or progressive-level patients at a 4:1 ratio \n
- Weekend and holiday rotation commitment required \n
- 13-week assignment with a night shift schedule of 19:00-07:30 \n

- Active RN license (Indiana or compact) required \n
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required \n
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required \n
- Current ACLS certification (AHA) required \n
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required \n
- Current Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start \n
- Experience managing critically ill patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, hemodynamic instability, and complex metabolic or neurologic conditions \n
- \n
- Provide care for a complex patient population including severe respiratory failure, sepsis/septic shock, hemodynamic instability, neurologic conditions, metabolic/endocrine disorders, cardiac conditions, and GI/hepatic failure \n
- Manage invasive arterial lines, mechanical and noninvasive ventilation, advanced oxygen therapies, and titrated IV medications such as vasopressors, sedatives, insulin, and antiarrhythmics \n
- Administer NIH and TNK therapy as needed \n
- Provide enteral or parenteral nutrition and monitor frequent labs and complex medication regimens \n
- Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on facility location \n
- Candidates must have a US Social Security Number and a US home address \n
- COVID vaccination is not required for this position \n
