Hydraulic Mechanic

The Hydraulic Mechanic is responsible for performing inspections and repairs on hydraulic equipment in all areas onboard.\n
Qualification requirements:\n

\nExperience:\n
\n

\n
• 5+ years' experience on offshore drilling units as a Hydraulic Mechanic
\n
• Certified Mechanic including an approved apprenticeship
\n
• 5+ years of experience working with IFS.
\n

\n
\nCertification Requirements:\n
\n

\n
• BOSIET CA EBS
\n
• Confined Space - Entry and Attendant Course Certificate
\n
• STCW Security Awareness
\n

\n
\n
\nAdditional Skills:\n
\n

\n
• Computer literate
\n
• Conversant with safety management system
\n
• Good verbal and written English skills
\n
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, components and principles of fluid power needed
\n

\n
Responsibility:\n
\n
\nSpecific tasks include, but are not limited to the below.\n
\n

• Perform other work as directed
\n
• Emergency responsibilities as per station bill
\n

\n
\n
\nResponsible for:\n
\n

\n
• Carrying out inspections, repairs and maintenance of the hydraulic installations and equipment
\n
• Monitoring the condition of hydraulic parts of the drilling equipment
\n
• Implementation of outstanding recommendations from equipment audits by customer, class or management
\n
• Carry out periodic maintenance according to the planned maintenance guidelines and coordinate same with supervisors and other departments
\n
• Maintain equipment manuals, service reports and advise supervisor on condition of equipment and spare parts availability
\n
• Order new spare parts and maintain an adequate stock of spares in order to fulfil maintenance requirements
\n
• Carry out assigned tasks in a safe manner following company policies and procedures
\n
• Daily cleaning and housekeeping in workshops and other areas
\n

\nParticipate in:\n
\n

\n
• Other relevant maintenance tasks
\n
• Department safety meeting and technical meetings as directed by supervisor
\n
• On-The-Job training of drilling crew
\n

\n
