American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU position requiring 2 years of critical care experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Details\n
    \n
  • Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
  • \n
  • Med surg PCU with mixed patient population including cardiac, minor trauma, respiratory, and mildly unstable hemodynamic patients
  • \n
  • All rooms are negative pressure capable and equipped with ceiling lifts
  • \n
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • \n
  • Weekend shifts required per unit needs
  • \n
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • \n
  • Floating required within scope to sister units per facility needs within the region
  • \n
  • Epic charting system experience preferred
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active RN license (CO or compact) currently in hand
  • \n
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • \n
  • Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required
  • \n
  • First-time travelers accepted; if this is a first contract, approximately 2 years of PCU/ICU experience requested
  • \n
  • Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
  • \n
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
  • \n
  • Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, heparin protocols, and PCA
  • \n
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry
  • \n
  • Experience with rapid response/code team activation
  • \n
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac management
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Provide nursing care to a mixed medical-surgical PCU patient population requiring cardiac, respiratory, and hemodynamic monitoring
  • \n
  • Complete all facility-specific training modules within the first week of the assignment
  • \n
  • Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract
  • \n
  • RTO is not allowed during specified blackout periods including early September, late October through early November, late November through early December, and late December through early January
  • \n
  • Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted at the local rate
  • \n
  • Candidates previously employed by the health system or its affiliates must disclose this information for eligibility review
  • \n
  • Candidates who completed a full year on assignment with this health system must wait at least one year before rebooking
  • \n
  • Blocked scheduling requests are not permitted
  • \n
