Heywood Hospital is seeking an experienced OR RN to support an increase in total joint replacement procedures.
\nThe ideal candidate will have strong Orthopedic OR experience and must be comfortable functioning in both scrub and circulate roles.
Key Requirements\n- \n
- Must be able to SCRUB and CIRCULATE \n
- Orthopedic OR experience required \n
- Experience with total joint replacement procedures preferred \n
- Strong perioperative nursing skills \n
- Current Massachusetts RN license \n
- ACLS required upon hire, or active BLS with AHA ACLS obtained within 60 days \n
- CNOR strongly preferred \n
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills \n
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment \n
- \n
- 4×10-hour shifts preferred \n
- Open to 8-hour shifts \n
- Open to schedules under 40 hours/week \n
- Call rotation required \n
- Open to longer contracts \n
The RN will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technicians, and the perioperative team to ensure safe and effective patient care.
\nResponsibilities include:

- Scrubbing and circulating surgical cases \n
- Maintaining sterile fields and aseptic technique \n
- Preparing surgical supplies, equipment, and instrumentation \n
- Verifying patient identity, consent, procedure, and surgical site \n
- Patient positioning and safe transfers \n
- Maintaining accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts \n
- Handling and labeling surgical specimens \n
- Monitoring patient safety throughout the procedure \n
- Administering medications and IV therapy as ordered \n
- Providing appropriate patient care and documentation \n
- \n
- High-volume Orthopedic/Total Joint surgical environment \n
- Scrub & circulate opportunity \n
