2026 - 2027 Grade 7 Science & Social Studies Teacher (Park Ridge Achievement Academy)

Job Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and engaging 7th Grade Science and Social Studies Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of middle school science and social studies content and a passion for helping students explore the world around them, both scientifically and historically. This role focuses on building critical thinking, inquiry, and real-world connections in a supportive classroom environment.Responsibilities:Plan and deliver engaging lessons in both science and social studies aligned with district curriculum and standardsTeach core science topics (life, earth, and physical science) and social studies topics (history, geography, civics, and culture)Create a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, discussion, and critical thinkingUse hands-on activities, experiments, primary sources, and projects to enhance learningAssess student progress regularly and adjust instruction to meet individual needsMaintain a structured, respectful, and positive classroom environmentCommunicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needsCollaborate with other teachers, administrators, and staffIncorporate technology and digital tools into daily instructionParticipate in professional development opportunitiesMaintain accurate records of student performance and progressQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, Social Studies, or a related fieldValid teaching certification in Louisiana (or enrollment in an approved alternative certification program)Experience teaching middle school students (preferred)Strong knowledge of both science concepts and social studies contentAbility to engage students through interactive and differentiated instructionStrong classroom management and communication skillsAbility to support students with diverse learning needsPassion for helping students understand the world from both scientific and historical perspectivesDesired Skills:Experience with digital learning platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Seesaw, etc.).Familiarity with using interactive whiteboards, tablets, and other tech tools to enhance learning.Willingness to learn new technologies and innovate in the classroom to improve student outcomes.
