Optometrist

Position SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and community-focused Optometrist to join our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The Optometrist will provide comprehensive primary eye care services, including diagnosis and management of ocular disease, in a team-based, patient-centered medical home environment serving diverse and underserved populations.Key Responsibilities· Perform comprehensive eye examinations· Diagnose and manage ocular diseases· Prescribe corrective lenses and therapeutic pharmaceuticals· Educate patients on preventive eye health· Document care accurately in the electronic health record· Participate in quality improvement initiatives and meet productivity standards· Collaborate with primary care providers and care teamsMinimum Qualifications· Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited school of optometry· Active and unrestricted Georgia optometry license· Eligible to prescribe and manage pharmaceutical agents under Georgia law· Successful completion of National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) examinations· Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain, if applicable to scope)· Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)· Experience or willingness to work in a community health/FQHC setting· Commitment to serving diverse and medically underserved populations· Ability to meet productivity and quality benchmarks in a value-based care environment· Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR)· Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, credential verification, and drug screening in accordance with organizational policy and HRSA/FQHC requirements.Preferred Qualifications· 2+ years of clinical experience· Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)· Experience treating ocular disease· Bilingual (Spanish preferred)· Experience with quality reporting measures (UDS, HEDIS, etc.)Why Join Us· Mission-driven, community impact· Eligible for NHSC Loan Repayment (if applicable)· Competitive salary and benefits· Supportive, team-based environmentEmployment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
