Job Summary: Installs electrical wiring, electrical components and systems on new fire trucks and police vehicles during manufacturing. Components are mostly DC, but A/C knowledge and experience will be needed. Also applies automotive electrical knowledge and experience for input into design of electrical systems. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of Manufacturing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety First: Ensure all electrical work meets the highest standards of safety and compliance with NFPA and OEM standards.
Innovate and Create: Layout and install advanced electrical systems for custom fire apparatus, including wiring, lighting, and control systems.
Hands-On Excellence: Install, test and troubleshoot electrical components and systems in custom built fire apparatus.
Documentation: Create detailed electrical schematics for each custom apparatus.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members to seamlessly integrate electrical systems.
Stay Ahead: Keep up with the latest advancements in electrical technology and fire apparatus standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Positive can-do attitude a must!
- 3-5 years of proven experience in electrical/electronics and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with high quality performance.
- A thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
- Two-way radio installation and repair experience a plus.
- Any EVT ratings are a plus and salary will be adjusted accordingly.
- Strong knowledge of 12V electrical systems.
- Whelen Cencom Programming Experience Preferred.
- Proficiency in creating electrical schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary: Starting rate of$25-38/hour depending on experience and qualifications.
