Medication Tech

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer prescribed medications to clients as directed by a licensed nurse and physician orders 
• Accurately document medication administration in the MAR (Medication Administration Record) 
• Monitor clients for medication side effects, adverse reactions, or changes in condition and report to nursing staff immediately 
• Maintain proper storage, security, and inventory of medications, including controlled substances 
• Assist with medication counts at shift changes in accordance with facility policy 
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including NJ Department of Health guidelines 
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding client status and medication-related concerns 
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the medication room/cart 
• Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality (HIPAA) standards at all times 
• Support clients in understanding their medications as directed by nursing staff
