Job Description
Job Title: Admissions Director
Position Overview: The Director of Admissions serves as the primary liaison for prospective residents, families, referral sources, and internal teams, ensuring a seamless, customer-focused transition into the facility. This role is responsible for managing the full admissions cycle from initial inquiry through post-admission follow up while maintaining accurate census data and regulatory documentation. The Director of Admissions upholds the organization’s standards for professionalism, responsiveness, and resident satisfaction, and represents the facility as a key ambassador within the community and among regional care partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Record information concerning inquiries, admissions, and discharges
Daily census reports and reporting
Coordinate the inquiry process
Facilitates the admission process including completing required paperwork
Notification and reporting of admission updates
Maintains monthly records of census and other necessary reporting records
Remains in contact with new residents; perform 3-month post move-in visit, surveys residents for satisfaction
Represents facility at community events, open houses other special and public relation events
Works with Case Managers locally and in surrounding areas.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in healthcare admissions or a related role within long-term care, senior living, or hospital environments.
Strong understanding of referral coordination, eligibility processes, and census management.
Excellent communication and customer-service skills with the ability to support residents and families with professionalism and compassion.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities, including managing multiple admissions and deadlines simultaneously.
Proficiency with computers, electronic documentation systems, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with case managers, referral partners, and community organizations.
Demonstrated reliability, sound judgment, and a high level of professionalism.
