CNC Mill Trainer

CNC Mill Trainer | Build the Next Generation of MachinistsThe CNC Mill Trainer is responsible for training, mentoring, and guiding apprentices and new hires in CNC machining fundamentals and shop practices. Supports the apprenticeship program while reinforcing safety, quality, and performance standards. Assists with production by operating CNC equipment as needed.What You'll DoTrain apprentices and new hires in CNC machining basics and advanced tasks Provide instruction in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings Teach the use of precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) Mentor and coach employees on technical skills and workplace behaviors Observe, document, and provide feedback on trainee performance and progress Support and execute apprenticeship program objectives Perform additional CNC-related tasks as assigned by the Foreman Operate CNC machines as needed to support production Promote and enforce safety and quality standardsPerform outreach and recruiting efforts with local high schoolsInterview students and participate in the hiring committeeTravel up to 10% as required for training or program support Other duties as assigned What You BringKnowledge & ExperienceCNC Level I Machinist (or equivalent hands-on experience)Strong knowledge of CNC machine operation and basic programmingBlueprint reading and GD&T fundamentalsPrecision measurement and inspection techniquesUnderstanding of manufacturing workflows and shop operationsCommitment to maintaining a safe work environmentSkills & AbilitiesStrong mentoring and coaching abilitiesExcellent communication and hands-on teaching skillsAbility to evaluate performance and adjust training methods to different learning stylesStrong organizational and documentation skillsEffective problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to manage multiple trainees and prioritiesComfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced shop environmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodationAbility to move throughout the facility, including walking between departments multiple times per day
