Description & Responsibilities

Our Intake & Services Supervisor oversees and provides direct service links for legal center clients to internal and external resources necessary to establish safety in leaving a domestic violence situation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Recruit, mentor and supervise staff, pro bono legal professionals, assistants, and volunteers to provide support in representing our clients.
  • Provide direct service link for legal center clients to external resources necessary to establish safety in leaving a domestic violence situation.
  • Provide liaison to clients or potential clients by providing intake, information, legal options, referral and follow-up service.
  • Develop, update and maintain files, demographic information and other documents according to established guidelines.
  • Assist attorneys with the intake of clients and potential clients as assigned.
  • Serve as a liaison with WAA residential programs.
  • Act as WAA Legal Center representative as assigned.
  • Complete and submit required data, reports and other written documents as assigned.

Requirements & Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's of Social Work, required.
  • Three (3) years experience in direct service and/or advocacy, required.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Some experience in working on domestic violence issues, strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Present good-listening and proficiency in communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience working in human services or related organization, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize time and detail, including keeping of records, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population, required. Working in an urban setting, preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficient computer skills - use of Microsoft Office suite software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English), preferred.
  • Will be required to attend our Virtual Domestic Violence Advocate Paid Training, post hire.
  • Must provide Satisfactory Child Abuse, Criminal and FBI clearances and to remain satisfactory thereafter. (Any expenses paid by employer)
