Position: Spiritual Care Chaplain

 Location: Southeastern Pennsylvania / Philadelphia Area

About the Role

Serenity Hospice - Penn is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Spiritual Care Chaplain to join our interdisciplinary team serving patients and families in the Philadelphia and Southeastern Pennsylvania region.

As a Chaplain, you will provide spiritual and emotional support to individuals facing life-limiting illness and their loved ones, helping bring comfort, peace, and dignity during life's most sacred transitions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct spiritual assessments and provide non-denominational spiritual care

• Offer prayer, rituals, and end-of-life ceremonies as requested

• Collaborate with nurses, social workers, physicians, and other team members to deliver holistic care

• Provide grief support and counseling to patients and families

• Visit patients in homes, nursing facilities, and hospitals throughout the Philadelphia area

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Divinity, Theology, or related field preferred

• Ordination or ecclesiastical endorsement by a faith group/denomination

• Completion of at least 1–4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) strongly preferred

• Experience in hospice, palliative care, or healthcare chaplaincy

• Ability to provide compassionate care to individuals of all faiths and those with no religious affiliation

• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the service area

• Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
