The Senior Electrical Superintendent provides leadership and direction for field operations across multiple commercial electrical construction projects. This position leads assigned Superintendents and field personnel and is accountable for safe execution, six-week planning, labor productivity, material and equipment performance, schedule achievement, quality, and development of future field leaders. The position works closely with Project Managers, General Contractors, Owners, Engineers, Procurement, and field supervision to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company standards.

Specific Responsibilities:

Safety

1. Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all assigned projects
2. Ensure OSHA compliance on every project.
   
3. Conduct jobsite safety audits.
   
4. Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings
   
5.  Ensure field personnel receive required safety training and that incidents and near misses are properly documented. 

Leadership and Supervision

1. Lead, coach, and hold accountable Electrical Superintendents, Foremen, field crews, and subcontractors. 
2. Establish clear expectations for safety, planning, productivity, quality, professionalism, and documentation. 
3. Conduct regular field visits, project reviews, performance evaluations, and follow-up on assigned commitments. 
4. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, workforce decisions, succession planning, and development of field personnel. 
5. Build future field leaders through coaching, mentorship, consistent standards, and documented development plans.

Planning and Scheduling 

1. Review contract documents, estimate assumptions, project schedules, and execution risks before and during construction. 
2. Lead the development, execution, and weekly update of six-week look-ahead plans for assigned projects
3. Ensure six-week plans identify activities, production goals, manpower, materials, equipment, information needs, constraints, responsible parties, and required dates.
4. Validate that constraints are removed before work is scheduled and hold Superintendents accountable for weekly commitments. 
5. Coordinate with Project Managers to maintain project schedules, milestone plans, recovery schedules, and short-interval production plans. 
6. Plan and balance manpower, equipment, material, and supervision needs across assigned project
7. Identify schedule conflicts, trade stacking, access limitations, shutdown requirements, and other risks before they affect production. 
8. Monitor progress against the six-week plan and master schedule and adjust resources or develop recovery actions as needed. 

Financial and Operational Performance 

1. Review labor budgets, labor-unit assumptions, manpower curves, material budgets, and equipment plans with Project Managers and Superintendents. 
2. Monitor budgeted, spent, earned, and forecasted labor hours; overtime; production rates; and projected hours to complete. 
3. Establish measurable productivity goals and review installed quantities, earned hours, and performance trends with project teams. 
4. Identify unfavorable labor or productivity trends early and require documented corrective and recovery plans. 
5. Validate field labor forecasts and participate in project financial and cost-to-complete reviews. 
6. Monitor material releases, usage, waste, loss, damage, returns, field purchases, and material-budget variances. 
7. Review equipment and rental budgets, utilization, transfers, extensions, and off-rent dates. 
8. Evaluate prefabrication, material-handling, crew-structure, sequencing, and installation methods that improve productivity and reduce cost. 
9. Ensure extra work, delays, disruptions, rework, and field changes are identified and documented for cost and schedule recovery. 

Quality Control 

1. Ensure all electrical installations meet project specifications, codes, and quality standards.
2. Review drawings, blueprints, and scope requirements with field supervisors.
3. Conduct jobsite inspections to verify quality and workmanship.
4. Address deficiencies and implement corrective actions when needed.
5. Identify opportunities to improve work methods, efficiency, and quality

Project Coordination

1. Serve as the senior field liaison and escalation point among Project Managers, Superintendents, General Contractors, Owners, Engineers, subcontractors, and field crews. 
2. Coordinate procurement priorities, material releases, deliveries, equipment, shutdowns, and critical installations.
3. Conduct project health reviews and escalate significant risks, budget variances, and resource needs to Operations leadership. 
4. Support project startup, mobilization, commissioning, punch-list completion, closeout, and timely release of field resources. 
   
5. Ensure work is performed in accordance with contract documents, approved plans, project requirements, and company procedures. 
6. Resolve field issues affecting safety, labor performance, material cost, quality, production, or schedule. 
7. Participate in preconstruction, turnover, coordination, progress, scheduling, and project-recovery meetings. 

Administration

1. Review and approve reports, manpower plans, six-week plans, productivity reports, and field documentation submitted by Superintendents and field supervisors. 
2. Ensure accurate timekeeping, quantity tracking, daily reporting, delay documentation, and change-work records. 
3. Provide accurate field information for forecasting, financial reporting, schedule updates, and executive project reviews. 
4. Maintain consistent field operating standards for planning, reporting, material control, equipment management, and jobsite organization. 
5. Capture lessons learned and provide field-performance feedback to Estimating, Project Management, Procurement, and Operations. 
6. Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership. 

Travel Requirements: <= 25% (may vary significantly among individuals in this position)

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent field experience preferred. 
2. 10+ years of commercial electrical construction experience, including 5+ years as an Electrical Superintendent. 
3. Demonstrated experience managing multiple large commercial projects, Superintendents, and field crews.
4. Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code, electrical systems, construction practices, and jobsite safety requirements. 
5. OSHA 30 certification required
   
6. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, estimates, and cost reports. 
7. Demonstrated ability to manage labor budgets, productivity, material costs, equipment, six-week planning, forecasting, and recovery plans
8. Strong leadership, communication, organization, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills. 
9. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam, and construction-management software preferred. 
10. Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation. 
11. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass required pre-employment screening. 
    

Supervisory Responsibility

This position directly supervises multiple Electrical Superintendents and provides leadership to Foremen and field crews across assigned projects. Responsibilities include directing field operations, balancing manpower and resources, evaluating performance, developing field leaders, supporting hiring and personnel decisions, and holding project teams accountable for safety, six-week planning, labor and material performance, productivity, quality, schedule, documentation, and company policies

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is frequently performed in outside weather conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and perform repetitive tasks such as bending, stretching, pulling, crawling, climbing, and digging.  The employee must have the ability to lift, push, pull, and move moderately heavy tools and equipment related to the trade.  The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.  The employee must be able to work at elevated heights, small confined spaces, and various weather conditions.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
