You'll work in a supportive small‑hospital environment where teamwork, communication, and compassion truly matter.What You'll DoYou will be responsible for performing essential laboratory procedures and ensuring accuracy, safety, and high‑quality results. Key responsibilities include:Evaluate and resolve specimen collection/processing issuesPerform and report in‑house testing (Hematology, Coag, Chemistry, Serology, UA, Microscopy, Blood Bank, Phlebotomy)Conduct complex analyses, troubleshoot deviations, and maintain precisionReview QC results and take corrective actionsPrepare blood components and perform compatibility testingOperate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot analyzers and lab equipmentCommunicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and ancillary departmentsProvide accurate medical technology informationMaintain workflow and support interdepartmental cooperationAdhere to infection control and safety protocolsReport critical/panic values promptlyPerform proficiency testing and support QA functionsComplete clerical tasks associated with testing and reportingParticipate in ongoing education and trainingOther duties as assignedWhat You BringStrong communication and interpersonal skillsFriendly, professional attitude with excellent bedside mannerBasic computer proficiencyUnderstanding of health/safety guidelines and healthcare regulationsTeam‑oriented mindset with strong organizational and multitasking skillsAbility to remain calm under pressure and deliver exceptional serviceProblem‑solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and follow established protocolsPhysical RequirementsThis role requires the ability to:Stand and walk for extended periodsUse hands for fine motor tasks and equipment handlingBend, twist, and move freely throughout the shiftCommunicate clearly and understand othersPerform minimal liftingVisually inspect samples and equipment both up close and at a distanceJoin Our SGH FamilyIf you're passionate about laboratory science and want to make a difference in a supportive, hometown hospital-we want to meet you!Apply today and grow your career at Simpson General Hospital.
