Job Title: Tool Room Technician

Overview
Summit Staffing is seeking an experienced Tool Room Technician to support a precision manufacturing operation serving the aviation industry. This position is ideal for a skilled Tool & Die professional who enjoys problem-solving, precision machining, and working closely with production and management teams to improve efficiency and quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing stamping dies, creating new dies from scratch, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

  • Pay Range: $25.00 – $30.00/hour
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot existing stamping dies to ensure optimal production performance.
  • Design, build, and modify stamping dies for small precision components.
  • Operate tool room equipment including lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and other precision machining equipment.
  • Sharpen and maintain drills, cutting tools, dies, and other tooling components.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Support production teams by providing tooling solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Ensure tooling and dies meet company quality standards and production requirements.
  • Maintain organized work areas and follow all safety procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with management and production personnel to identify and implement creative manufacturing solutions.
  • Demonstrate accountability, integrity, and ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and management.
Skills & Experience
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting stamping dies.
  • Ability to create and build dies from scratch.
  • Strong understanding of precision machining and tooling practices.
  • Experience operating lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and related tool room equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to quality workmanship and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of metal stamping processes and tooling applications.
  • Background supporting high-volume production operations.
Work Environment
  • Positions available on 1st shift.
  • Manufacturing facility producing precision components for the aviation industry.
  • Frequent use of machine shop and tool room equipment.
  • Hands-on role requiring precision measurements, machining, and tool maintenance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Required use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear as needed.
