Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled, quality-focused Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform a wide range of diagnostic nuclear imaging procedures. In this technical role, you will prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate advanced imaging equipment, and produce high-quality diagnostic scans in alignment with established clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
This position is ideal for a certified technologist who combines strong technical expertise with compassionate patient care, radiation safety diligence, and thorough operational oversight under general supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostic Imaging & Patient Care:
- Procedure Execution: Perform specialized diagnostic nuclear medicine studies, obtaining diagnostic-quality images as ordered by physicians.
- Radiopharmaceutical Administration: Measure, prepare, identify, and safely administer radioactive isotopes and prescribed substances within the technologist’s scope of practice.
- Patient Interaction: Review patient histories, explain standard procedures clearly to alleviate concerns, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the exam.
Quality Control, Safety & Department Operations:
- Radiation Safety & Compliance: Maintain strict quality assurance practices and radiation protection protocols to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self, ensuring full compliance with Joint Commission, federal, state, and local regulations.
- Equipment Maintenance & Calibration: Operate assigned equipment safely and perform routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks.
- Documentation & Inventory: Maintain accurate medical records, logs, and electronic charts; manage consumable supply inventories to ensure continuous clinical readiness.
- Multidisciplinary Support: Assist in other areas of radiology as assigned and perform related operational duties.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
- Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology [Required].
- Professional Registration: Active certification and registration through the ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) OR the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) [Required].
- Life Support: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification [Required].

- Strong technical proficiency in operating nuclear scanning equipment and handling radioactive isotopes.
- Excellent interpersonal and patient communication skills.
- High attention to detail regarding regulatory compliance, clinical documentation, and safety procedures.
