About this job
Job Description
A Cardiac Telemetry Services RN opportunity is available in Independence, MO at a 285+ bed Level II Trauma Center with an accredited Chest Pain Center, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a Stroke Center, and an accredited Cancer Program and Breast Center.
The role. This position is based in a 36-bed cardiac specialty unit that cares for a wide variety of monitored patients, including those presenting with chest pain, stroke, COPD, post-operative needs, GI conditions, accelerated heart rhythm, and drips — with step-down from a PCU and Level II Trauma Center environment. Nurses in this unit assess acute changes in patient condition, continuously monitor and analyze heart rhythms, interpret ECGs, identify arrhythmias, and intervene in emergency situations. Beyond foundational nursing competencies, RNs on this unit develop advanced knowledge in the psychosocial, spiritual, pathophysiological, and therapeutic aspects of care specific to patients requiring cardiac monitoring and step-down-level support. The unit serves patients ages 16 and older, spanning young adult through geriatric populations, with patients under 16 cared for until stable enough for transfer. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 4–5:1 on day shift and 5–6:1 on night shift, with one tech per hall.
What we're looking for.
- Graduation from a school of nursing with either a Diploma, ADN, or BSN
- Must hold a current RN license from the Missouri State Board of Nursing or Multistate RN license from a participating compact state required
- 1 year of Acute Care RN experience
- BLS certification required upon hire
- ACLS certification within 1 year of hire date
Schedule. Days and nights with rotating weekends.
Compensation. $32.00 - $43.00/hr
