Substitute Teacher (Early Childhood)

Location: Park Schools Montessori
Position Type: On-Call / As Needed

About the Role:

Park Schools Montessori is seeking reliable and flexible Substitute Teachers who can step in on an as-needed basis to support our classrooms. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and can quickly adapt to different classroom environments while maintaining a positive and nurturing atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

• Step in for absent teachers and follow provided lesson plans or classroom routines
• Maintain a safe, calm, and engaging classroom environment
• Supervise and support children in daily activities, including learning, play, and transitions
• Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance and redirection
• Ensure the well-being and safety of all students at all times
• Communicate effectively with school staff regarding classroom updates or concerns
• Assist with basic classroom organization and clean-up

Requirements:

• Experience working with young children (preferred)
• Ability to adapt quickly to different classrooms and age groups (infants to 6 years old)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, reliability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to follow instructions and classroom procedures
• Must be dependable and available on short notice when needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in Early Childhood Education or a related field
• Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience
• Familiarity with Montessori principles (a plus, but not required)

Schedule:

• On-call / as needed
• Hours may vary depending on staffing needs
