About the Role:
Heritage Reporting Corporation is seeking a skilled and certified Digital Court Reporter to join our team in Washington, DC. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to play a vital role in the accurate capture and documentation of legal proceedings at the highest level.
Responsibilities:
- Operate digital recording equipment to accurately capture court proceedings, depositions, and hearings
- Monitor and manage multi-channel audio recording systems to ensure clear, uninterrupted sound quality
- Maintain detailed logs and annotations of speakers, exhibits, and proceedings in real time
- Produce and certify accurate transcripts from digital recordings in a timely manner
- Manage and archive digital audio files in compliance with court and agency standards
- Coordinate with attorneys, judges, and legal staff to ensure smooth proceedings
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical recording issues as they arise
Requirements:
- Proven experience in digital court reporting or legal transcription
- Proficiency with digital recording software and courtroom audio equipment
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and courtroom protocol
- Exceptional listening skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to maintain composure and accuracy in fast-paced legal environments
- Strong organizational and time management skills for transcript delivery deadlines
- Active AAERT or NCRA certification preferred or willingness to obtain in one month
