Job Description
Position: Line Mechanic / Compounder
Location: Griffin, GA
Schedule: 1st Shift
Pay: $24-25/hour
Job Summary
We are hiring a Line Mechanic / Compounder for a client in Griffin, GA. This dual-role position combines mechanical support for filling lines with accurate compounding of raw materials to keep production running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Perform mechanical setup, changeovers, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on aerosol production lines
Quickly diagnose and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime
Ensure equipment operates within established safety and quality parameters
Maintain and organize tools, spare parts, and maintenance documentation
Collaborate with the maintenance team and production supervisors on continuous improvement
Accurately weigh, measure, and mix raw materials according to batch formulations and safety protocols
Operate kettles, pumps, and mixing equipment, including jacketed kettles for adhesive or flammable product batches
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the compounding area and equipment
Record batch production data and ensure raw material traceability
Safely handle hazardous materials per SDS, internal safety standards, and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, FDA, GMP)
Perform all other duties as required and assigned
Must Haves
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of experience in manufacturing (aerosol, chemical, or pharmaceutical production preferred)
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with hands-on experience in line maintenance or equipment repair
Ability to read and understand batch sheets, schematics, mechanical drawings, SOPs, and safety data sheets (SDS)
Basic knowledge of pumps, valves, mixers, and fluid transfer systems
Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly
Ability to stand, bend, reach, and work on mechanical systems for extended periods
Comfortable in a manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noise, chemical vapors, flammable materials, and varying temperatures
Willingness to wear appropriate PPE
Preferred Skills
Technical training or certifications
Forklift certification (or willingness to become certified)
Familiarity with aerosol production processes
Basic welding, plumbing, or electrical repair skills
Strong organizational and communication skills
