A healthcare professional who is familiar with tissue specimens for microscopic examination by pathologists.  They will take care of the day-to-day operations of the scanning systems, which primarily consists of loading and unloading pathology slides into the scanning systems. They perform various tasks like visually inspecting the quality of the microscopic slides, scanning the microscopic slides. This process involves using specialized equipment to prepare the slides to be scanned and archived. Past experience as a Histology Technician is preferred not required. This role is part of a medical research project with a goal of advancing healthcare, making communication and diagnosis of diseases faster and easier. This role is temporary and will be for approximately 90-120 days.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Responsible for day-to-day operation of digital pathology scanning equipment and process

·         Responsible for handling glass pathology slides with care

·         Responsible for handling the loading and unloading of glass pathology slides into scanning equipment

·         Responsible for Quality Checks on scanned images

·         Communicate effectively with team members locally and remotely

Education and/or Experience: (includes certificate & licenses)

·         Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s (AS) degree or equivalent

·         0 to 2 years of relevant professional experience

·         Must be willing to train on scanning digital pathology scanning equipment

·         Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation
