Premier Staffing Unlimited is recruiting for an experienced Human Resources Manager on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company in the Macon area. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys being actively involved with employees, partnering with leadership, and making a meaningful impact within a manufacturing environment.


This is an on-site position supporting a manufacturing facility of approximately 75 employees. The Human Resources Manager will serve as a key member of the local leadership team, working closely with the General Manager, Operations Manager, and Maintenance Manager while reporting to the Vice President of EHS/HR.


Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day human resources functions for the facility.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting, interviewing, selection, and onboarding for exempt and non-exempt positions.
  • Develop recruiting partnerships with local high schools, colleges, technical schools, and community organizations.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and employment-related matters.
  • Interpret and apply company policies while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state employment laws.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations, including harassment and workplace concerns, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, listening sessions, and retention efforts.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to improve employee retention.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding, orientation, required documentation, and compliance training.
  • Support safety initiatives, workers' compensation administration, and employee wellness programs.
  • Assist with training and development programs, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Build strong relationships with plant leadership and maintain a visible presence on the production floor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional Human Resources experience.
  • Previous Human Resources experience within a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong experience with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and employee relations.
  • Working knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, wage and benefit administration, and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems.
  • PHR or SHRM certification, or the ability to obtain certification, is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work occasional early mornings, evenings, or nights to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation.


Working Environment

  • Primarily on-site in a manufacturing facility.
  • Regular interaction with employees throughout both office and production environments.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, odors, and industrial manufacturing conditions while on the plant floor.
  • Occasional travel (approximately 5-10%) for meetings or company-related activities.
  • Ability to navigate stairs within the facility and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
