Printer Discovery Technician

Peak Systems is looking to add to our team in the Miami, FL area preforming printer discovery work at a major health institution. There are MULTIPLE buildings and locations in and around Miami. Technicians will work onsite with lead resources for training and then branch out to their own locations to complete this work. This is a full time project for about 2 months and may be extended. Regular working hours, Monday to Friday.

Job: Printer Discovery. You will be utilizing an online portal which is a tool to track the printer information and maps.

Discovery establishes an accurate, validated baseline of the customer’s current print environment to support solution design and deployment planning. Accuracy and completeness directly affect downstream design quality, configuration, and customer satisfaction. Techs onsite leads assist Discovery exclusively with physical validation, data gathering, and site mapping activities. THIS IS NOT AN INSTALL PROJECT. You will be recording all the data from every printer at each facility and uploading it into an online portal.

The following should be gathered for every device at each location:

·     Model

·     Serial Number

·     IP address

·     Floor Standing/Desktop?

·     Number of trays

·     Condition (Place these notes in the “Notes” box.

·     Fax Number (if applicable)

·     Hostname

·     Page Counts (if the device is made by HP, get these counts from the Usage Page)

·     Asset Number (if posted on the outside of the printer)

·     Service ID (if the device is made by HP)

·     Location (office number, copy room #, etc.)

·     A configuration page and usage page should be printed out for every printer and sent electronically

The information is uploaded into a tool along with the configuration page and a map ID

Required Qualifications

·     1–3+ years of experience working with printers

·     Comfortable traveling frequently and working at multiple sites - must have reliable transportation. Travel will be provided for any location more than 50 miles from your home

·     Excellent communication, documentation, and time‐management skills

·     Smart phone, tablet or laptop to bring to site to record data

·     MUST be willing to take a TB test (skin or blood draw) - this cost is covered

Compensation $27/hour + travel if needed
