HR Coordinator Requirements & Qualifications


  • Previous experience as a human resources professional or in HR administration preferred
  • Managing and submitting payroll for over 1000 employees
  • Onboarding and Benefit administration
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Availability for occasional business travel (up to 20%; expenses reimbursed)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

HR Coordinator Preferred Background & Skills


  • Familiarity with ACA, FMLA, COBRA, and other HR compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of multistate compliance (Midwest region preferred)
  • Experience working with financial reports, spreadsheets, or accounting data
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments

HR Coordinator Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Serve as administrative support for the HR department
  • Process payroll accurately and resolve any discrepancies
  • Partner with payroll vendors for timely, compliant payroll processing
  • Support benefit enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries
  • Track and coordinate benefit eligibility, life event updates, and open enrollment activities
  • Prepare meeting materials, reports, presentations, and communications
  • Maintain accurate employee files and HR records
  • Assist with onboarding, new hire paperwork, and leave administration (including FMLA)
  • Ensure compliance with employment regulations and assist with HR reporting
  • Organize electronic and paper filing systems for confidential documentation
  • Track and follow up on action items to keep priorities moving forward
