Job Description
We are looking for a Network Engineer II to support enterprise network initiatives and deliver reliable engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of programs. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and can apply strong technical judgment throughout the full engineering lifecycle, from analysis and design through testing and deployment. The role requires an individual who can work with limited supervision, collaborate with stakeholders, and help maintain performance, security, and operational continuity in complex network environments.
Responsibilities:
• Provide network engineering support across multiple programs, ensuring infrastructure solutions align with technical objectives and operational needs.
• Participate in the complete system engineering process by translating requirements into network designs, supporting development activities, validating performance, and assisting with implementation.
• Assess existing network environments, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend technologies or design changes that strengthen capability, reliability, and security.
• Analyze technical issues of moderate complexity, apply sound engineering methods, and resolve problems while balancing schedule, performance, and customer expectations.
• Monitor project milestones and service outcomes to help ensure network deliverables are completed on time and in accordance with established standards.
• Work closely with customers, internal teams, and peer groups to coordinate activities, communicate technical information clearly, and build cooperation across functions.
• Contribute to the refinement of engineering practices, procedures, and policy recommendations that support effective network operations and organizational goals.
• Provide guidance to less experienced team members when needed, share technical knowledge, and assist in maintaining consistent execution across assigned tasks.• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
• At least 4 years of experience performing network engineering work across a broad range of technical assignments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of network design, implementation, troubleshooting, and operational support.
• Experience supporting the full engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, testing, and deployment activities.
• Ability to work independently on routine assignments and determine effective approaches for new or unfamiliar tasks.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Working knowledge of engineering policies, procedures, and standard practices within a networked environment.
• Ability to evaluate technical data, exercise sound judgment, and maintain progress against schedules and performance objectives.
