Job Description
Exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to support preschool students with cognitive delays in a collaborative educational setting. This contract position begins August 31 and continues through May 20, making a meaningful difference in young learners’ lives just outside Ashland, OH.
This role centers around a preschool caseload, working with students experiencing cognitive delays. You’ll primarily provide services on an as-needed basis at several sites, all conveniently located within approximately five miles of each other.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a special education environment
- Strong understanding of cognitive developmental delays and effective instructional strategies
- Excellent communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage itinerant schedules and travel between local sites as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to preschoolers with cognitive delays
- Collaborate with classroom staff, related service providers, and families to ensure comprehensive care
- Develop, modify, and implement IEP goals and accommodations
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records and documentation
- Participate in meetings, consultations, and ongoing professional development
- Provide consultative or direct services as determined by each student’s IEP and need
