Job Description
Step into an impactful contract position supporting the academic and social success of 5th-8th grade students with mild to moderate disabilities. In this role, you’ll deliver tailored instruction, champion individualized educational plans (IEPs), and foster inclusive classroom environments. This position covers the 2026-2027 school year, running from August 19th, 2026, through May 21st, 2027.
Qualifications and Certifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (applicable for teaching grades 5-8)
- Credentials compliant with state requirements for Special Education
- Background in developing and implementing IEPs
- Experience with mild/moderate caseloads preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with colleagues, students, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 15 students, providing targeted lesson plans and interventions
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, making data-informed adjustments to support student growth
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with curriculum standards
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to ensure student success and inclusion
- Track and report student progress, maintaining detailed documentation
- Participate in team meetings, staff professional development, and school initiatives
