Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school setting. This in-person position located near Lake City, SC, invites educators dedicated to fostering engaging, inclusive learning environments to make a meaningful difference.
Two unique openings are available to match your expertise and passion:
- Self-Contained / PRTF Classroom (Grades 6–12): Teach a small group of 8–10 students, providing individualized guidance and support in a focused, structured setting.
- Elementary Resource Room (Grades 3–5): Collaborate with a slightly larger group of 12–15 students, adapting instruction and resources to help each child reach their fullest potential.
Both roles are full-time, with a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week, and offer the chance to begin making an impact immediately through June 11, 2027.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification in Special Education
- Experience teaching or supporting students with diverse needs
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to creating positive relationships with students, families, and school teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans
- Adapt curriculum materials for varying skill levels and learning styles
- Manage and document student progress, behaviors, and interventions
- Collaborate closely with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom community
