Job Description
This Welder/Fabricator role focuses on producing high-quality welded products while maintaining welding tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner to meet established quality and production standards.
Responsibilities- Perform MIG (wire feed) welding on a variety of parts and assemblies according to work order routings and instructions.
- Interpret and follow blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and weld placement.
- Use a tape measure and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances prior to and after welding.
- Lay out parts using weld fixtures to ensure proper fit-up and alignment before welding.
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to company standards.
- Follow production schedules and work instructions to meet daily output and quality goals.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to resolve issues and support smooth workflow.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot fabrication or welding challenges.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with shop safety practices.
- Proven ability to perform wire feed (MIG) welding with a demonstrated skill level.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure confidently and precisely.
- Ability to read and understand work order routings and written instructions.
- Ability to lay out parts using weld fixtures for proper assembly and fit-up.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fabrication environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working within a team.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fabrication and weld shop setting.
- Previous experience in a fabrication or weld shop environment is beneficial.
- Familiarity with production standards and quality expectations in a manufacturing setting.
- Comfort working with multiple shifts and adapting to changing production needs.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a fabrication and weld shop environment, working with MIG welding equipment, weld fixtures, measuring tools, and related fabrication tools. The shop operates multiple shifts: a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with mandatory Saturday overtime that is expected to decrease as additional team members are added; and a third shift from 6:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, or an alternative 12-hour schedule Monday through Thursday to avoid working Fridays, which includes a shift premium of $1.75. The position requires working safely around welding operations, maintaining an organized work area, and adhering to standard shop practices and attire appropriate for a welding and fabrication setting.
