This travel assignment is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) care. What you’ll need:

  • Active RN license (Illinois or compact state)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ recent CVOR experience
  • Proficiency with surgical cardiac care, sterile technique, and latest OR protocols
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking abilities
  • Adaptable mindset to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments

Primary responsibilities:

  • Circulate and/or scrub for CVOR procedures, including cardiac and thoracic surgeries
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs for optimal patient outcomes
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical field
  • Monitor and assess patients’ conditions intra-operatively
  • Uphold strict safety and infection control guidelines
  • Document nursing care and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives
