Job Description
This role focuses on grinding forged metals and alloys, supporting metal fabrication and forging operations, and performing general shop labor in a manufacturing environment. You will use a variety of hand and power tools, as well as measuring instruments, to ensure parts meet quality and dimensional specifications while contributing to efficient production.
Responsibilities- Grind forged metals and alloys to specified dimensions and surface finishes using appropriate grinding tools and equipment.
- Support metal fabrication processes by preparing, handling, and finishing metal components as required.
- Assist in forging operations by moving, positioning, and handling materials safely and efficiently.
- Measure materials and finished parts using measuring tape, micrometers, and calipers to verify accuracy against specifications.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform general labor tasks in the shop, including material handling, basic cleaning, and organizing work areas.
- Follow production instructions and work orders to complete tasks on time and to quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment by following all safety procedures and reporting any issues or hazards.
- Experience grinding forged metals and alloys in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency using measuring tape, micrometers, and calipers to check dimensions and tolerances.
- Hands-on experience with metal fabrication processes and basic shop practices.
- Familiarity with forging operations and working around forging equipment.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and basic shop machinery.
- Previous experience performing general labor tasks in a production setting.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to production requirements.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Experience in a forging environment is preferred.
- Background in production or manufacturing operations is beneficial.
- Comfort working with metal forming and grinding processes.
- Strong work ethic and reliability in a shift-based environment.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a manufacturing environment focused on forging, metal fabrication, and grinding operations. You will work around industrial machinery, hand and power tools, and production equipment. The role follows a shift schedule, with a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a second shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The work involves standing for extended periods, handling metal parts, and working in an active shop setting where safety procedures and appropriate work attire are essential.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
