Special Education Teacher | Columbus, Ohio

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher for 5th-8th grade students in a supportive academic environment. This is a contract opportunity working with a caseload of 15 students identified as mild to moderate, allowing for individualized attention and instructional creativity. The upcoming school year runs from August 19, 2026, through May 21, 2027, offering the chance to help students reach their fullest potential during this pivotal time.

Qualifications & Credentials:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification appropriate for the state of Ohio
• Previous experience teaching or supporting students with mild to moderate learning needs
• Strong classroom management and organization skills
• Ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team
• Passion for fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student
• Adapt curriculum for the unique needs of 5th-8th grade learners
• Provide direct instruction, intervention, and support on a daily basis
• Communicate regularly with families and other team members regarding student progress
• Maintain thorough records and documentation in accordance with state and district standards
• Foster a safe, positive classroom culture that supports social, emotional, and academic growth
